Here’s the weekly radio review. To my new followers, on Mondays I post a small synopsis of what’s happening on mainstream radio (based on my work for Mediabase). If you’re interested in learning about radio, programming, charts, etc., I consult. Please reach out to

On Rhythmic radio: Rhythmic radio is hilarious. The amount of new spins one song gets in one week is incredibly peculiar. On that note, 700+ new spins for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis f/ Ray Dalton “Can’t Hold Us,” propels them into the Top 10.  Will.I.Am f/ Justin Bieber “#thatpower” is two weeks on the chart at #20. Won’t be surprised at all to see big increase with them, lol.

On Urban Adult Contemporary: John Legend “Who Do We Think We Are” is two weeks on and has climbed from #32 to #26. Boney James f/ Raheem DeVaughn “Maker Of Love” climbs to #20. Alicia Keys f/ Maxwell “Fire We Make” climbs from #11 to #9. I’m very surprised this song is 12 weeks on and just reaching the Top 10.

On Urban radio: New to the Top 25 is Ciara “Body Party” and Miguel f/ Kendrick Lamar “How Many Drinks?” New song by T. Rone “Hello Love (F.U.) seems to not care this idea was recently successful for Ceelo (he didn’t wait yeeeeeaaaars to title his song the same *shrug*). Nice jump for Kendrick Lamar’s “B**ch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” from #26 to #17.

Top Rhythmic songs: Rihanna “Pour It Up,” Justin Timberlake f/ Jay-Z “Suit & Tie,” Drake “Started From The Bottom.”

Top Urban AC songs: Charlie Wilson “My Love Is All I Have,” Miguel “Adorn,” and Tamar Braxton “Love And War.”

Top Urban songs: Rihanna “Pour It U,” Wale f/ Tiara Thomas “Bad,” Drake “Started From The Bottom.”
