Here’s the weekly radio review (based on my work for Mediabase). Check it out:
On Rhythmic radio: Jay Z “Holy Grail” and “Tom Ford” are both in the Top 10. Lorde “Royals” had jumped to #2 last week, now falls out of the Top 10 to #4.
On Urban Adult Contemporary: Not much new movement here. Nothing new in the Top 10. Miguel “Adorn” is still in the Top 10, after 69 weeks (perfect example of corporate OVER-programming).
On Urban radio: No big gains on spins on this chart either. Holidays are here and music rotations are becoming stagnant. I did see that Lorde “Royals” has entered the Top 20 (so surprised, this is not the traditional sound of Urban radio, though Urban and Rhythmic pretty much are the same now).
Top 3 on Rhythmic radio: Chris Brown f/ Nicki Minaj “Love More,” Eminem f/ Rihanna “The Monster,” and #1 is Drake f/ Majid Jordan “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
Top 3 on Urban AC radio: Alicia Keys f/ Maxwell “Fire We Make,” Robin Thicke f/ Pharrell & T.I. “Blurred Lines,” and #1 is Toni Braxton & Babyface “Hurt You.”
Top 3 on Urban radio: Drake f/ Majid Jordan “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” Jay Z “Tom Ford,” and #1 is Sevyn Streeter “It Won’t Stop.”
