Hope the New Year is treating you well. Stay focused and inspired to reach your goals. And here’s the weekly synopsis of what’s happening on mainstream radio (based on my work at Mediabase):
On Rhythmic stations: Eminem “Headlights” and Chainsmokers “#SELFIE” are new to the charts, one week on, and close to entering the Top 30. Two songs with incredible amounts of new spins gained: Beyonce “Partition” over 600 spins, now at #20, and Trey Songz “Na Na Na” over 500 spins, now at #10.
On Urban AC stations: Joe’s remix of “Love & Sex (pt. 2)” featuring Kelly Rowland has jumped into the Top 15 (#14). Ledisi “I Blame You” has entered to the Top 10 (#7).
On Urban stations: Boosie & Webbie “Show Da World” has been on the Urban chart two weeks and is sitting at #25. Expect it to gain spins over the next week, now that Boosie is out of jail and his popularity has soared. New to the Top 20 are DJ Infamous f/ Jeezy & Ludacris “Double Up” (#20) and Schoolboy Q “Man Of The Year” (#18).
Top 3 on Rhythmic radio: Pharrell Williams “Happy,” Katy Perry f/ Juicy J “Dark Horse,” and Beyonce f/ Jay Z “Drunk In Love.”
Top 3 on Urban AC radio: Robin Thicke “For The Rest Of My Life,” Pharrell Williams “Happy,” and John Legend “All Of Me.”
Top 3 on Urban radio: Ty Dolla $ign f/ B.O.B. “Paranoid,” Kid Ink f/ Chris Brown “Show Me,” and Beyonce f/ Jay Z “Drunk In Love.”
